Lenovo Thinkpad T400
The new ThinkPad T Series systems, featuring the T400 and T500 models, come with Intel Core 2 Duo 45nm processors, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, optional Intel Turbo Memory 2.0, and switchable graphics. The video solution consists of the Intel GMA 4500HD integrated graphics combined with the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470/3650 256MB dedicated GPU. Users are enabled switch between the power-saving 4500HD and higher-performance discrete chip on-the-fly. These laptop PCs have up to 320GB of hard drive capacity or an optional 64GB solid state drive, various optical drive options, including Blu-Ray, and an optional webcam.

The Lenovo ThinkPad T400 has 14.1″ 1280×800, 1440×900, or 1680×1050 display. The screen with the highest resolution uses LED backlight.

Communication features and options include 802.11n wireless, integrated mobile broadband with GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, and Gigabit Ethernet. In addition, Lenovo will offer WiMAX and Ultra Wide Band modules later this year.

Regarding security, the integrated Trusted Platform Module (TPM
v1.2) and BIOS disabling of all ports are standard. An integrated fingerprint reader, SmartCard reader, full encryption of HDD, Softex omniPass, and Utimaco SGE are optional.

The T400 sports three USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, a 7-in-1 media card reader, Firewire, and VGA output. Another slot is populated with a PC Card or SmartCard reader, depending on customer’s choice.

The laptop starts at 4.7 pounds with a 4-cell battery, providing 4.3 hours of battery life. It is also available with 6- and 9-cell units for 6.5 and 9.8 hours of run time, respectively.
